Introduction to scuba diving basics

Orientation & Knowledge Development
Your experience begins with a short orientation where your PADI Instructor will guide you through the key concepts of scuba diving. You’ll learn about:
How pressure affects your body underwater
Techniques for equalizing your ears
The importance of breathing continuously and never holding your breath
Standard underwater hand signals
The importance of staying close to your Instructor for safety and comfort
This knowledge session ensures you feel confident before getting into the water.
Confined Water Training – Getting Comfortable
Begin your journey in shallow, calm water where you’ll learn essential scuba skills such as breathing and swimming techniques. This first dive will take you to a maximum depth of 6 meters, giving you a chance to get comfortable and confident in the water.
Skills you’ll learn include:
Clearing your regulator
Recovering your regulator
Clearing your mask underwater
Inflating and deflating your BCD (Buoyancy Control Device) at the surface
This session helps build confidence and prepares you for the open water adventure.
Open Water Dive – Time to Explore!
Once you’re comfortable with the equipment and underwater skills, it’s time for the highlight of your experience — exploring the ocean!
After mastering the basics, you’ll head out for your second dive — a guided open water adventure, descending to a maximum depth of 12 meters. Here, you’ll experience the vibrant coral reefs and colorful marine life of the Red Sea under the direct supervision of your PADI Instructor.
This program can be done either from the shore or by boat.

You must be at least 10 years old to join the PADI DSD program.
Your first dive is in shallow water (max 6 meters) to practice basic skills. Your second dive can go up to 12 meters, always under close supervision.
The DSD is not a certification course, but you’ll get a recognition card, and your experience can count toward the PADI Open Water Diver certification if you decide to continue.
